Alston & Bird Honored as “Community Partner of the Year” by Midtown Assistance Center

Alston & Bird has been honored by Atlanta’s Midtown Assistance Center (MAC) with its prestigious “2018 Community Partner of the Year Award” in recognition of the firm’s leadership and service in the ongoing fight against hunger and homelessness.

Under the auspices of Alex Brown, senior associate in Alston & Bird’s Litigation & Trial Practice Group, who has served on MAC’s board since 2012 and was president of the organization from 2017 to 2018, the firm has demonstrated its leadership and service in numerous ways – from promoting volunteerism and donating food, to sponsoring the annual Midtown Race for MAC 5K fundraising race/walk, a premier event now in its sixth year that will take place in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park on May 11, 2019.

A commercial litigator whose practice includes antitrust, consumer protection, and privacy-related matters, Brown represents clients in state and federal courts, international arbitration, government investigations, and the U.S. International Trade Commission.

Founded in 1986, the Midtown Assistance Center is a nonprofit, interfaith organization whose mission is to provide emergency assistance to Atlanta’s working poor to help prevent homelessness and hunger during periods of crisis.
