• Represented major telecom firm in investigations by multiple state-sponsored actors targeting the infrastructure for both espionage and financial crime-based purposes.
• Representing clients involved in FTC investigations and an antitrust MDL related to right to repair.
• Counseling clients on use of AI and avoiding pitfalls in the areas of antitrust, privacy, data security, and contractual relationships.
• Defeated class certification and won summary judgment on behalf of a Fortune 1000 retail company accused of privacy violations.

Antitrust

• Prosecuting monopolization claims against Keurig Green Mountain on behalf of the McLane Company in U.S.-based multidistrict litigation (MDL).
• Counsel to a major chicken producer defending allegations in multiple lawsuits that the poultry industry engaged in conspiracies to reduce output, manipulate price indexes, and fix wages.
• Resolved claims in MDL and in international arbitration on behalf of a Fortune 50 company victimized by a worldwide conspiracy to fix the price of lithium-ion batteries.
• Defended a major pharmaceutical company in a case involving antitrust claims arising out of a patent license dispute.
• Counsel to one of the world’s largest wireless equipment manufacturers in a series of international disputes over the licensing of wireless technologies in ICC arbitration, the International Trade Commission, and federal courts across the country.

Commercial Arbitration

• Trial counsel for one of the world’s largest telecom carriers in four, week-long merits hearings where the client received full defense verdicts and attorneys’ fees.
• Represented both plaintiffs and defendants in more than 20 commercial arbitrations involving business-to-business disputes ranging from breach of a software agreement to fraud.

Alex Brown focuses his complex commercial litigation and investigations practice on high-stakes antitrust, consumer protection, data privacy, cybersecurity, AI, and telecommunications matters. Alex has spent 15 years representing corporate plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts, including class actions and multidistrict litigation, as well as arbitration (international and domestic), and before the International Trade Commission. He also focuses his practice on representing clients navigating FTC, DOJ, and state attorney general investigations. Alex leverages this experience to counsel large corporations, national membership organizations, nonprofits, and smaller companies in a variety of areas, including commercial disputes, AI, and compliance with antitrust, telecommunications, consumer protection, data privacy, and cybersecurity regulations and guidelines.
