Hon. Betty Weinberg Ellerin Receives Inaugural Namesake “Award of Excellence” from New York Women’s Bar Association

Hon. Betty Weinberg Ellerin, senior counsel in Alston & Bird’s Litigation & Trial Practice Group, has been honored by the New York Women’s Bar Association with its inaugural “Betty Weinberg Ellerin Award of Excellence.”

Named after Justice Ellerin in honor of her many and varied accomplishments and talents in and out of the courtroom, the award recognizes Justice Ellerin’s work mentoring hundreds of women throughout her career and being a trailblazer for many female lawyers who have followed in her footsteps.

This is the most recent honor awarded to Justice Ellerin. Last month, she received the 2019 “Career Public Service Award” from the Fund for Modern Courts in recognition of her career-long dedication to public service excellence.

Founded in 1934, the New York Women’s Bar Association is a nonprofit organization devoted to improving the status of women in society, educating women lawyers and assisting them in professional development and advancement, and promoting the fair and equal administration of justice.
