Alston & Bird has earned national recognition among general counsel as a “standout” in client service in a new study by BTI Consulting Group.
As reported in the BTI Client Service A-Team 2020, Alston & Bird is recognized among the elite “Client Service 30,” described by BTI as the top 30 U.S. law firms that general counsel regard as the “best of the best in client service.”
This is the 11th time that Alston & Bird has made the Client Service 30 since BTI introduced the ranking.
“Alston & Bird stands out for its ability to deal with complexity and deliver a uniform client service experience – both sitting at the epicenter of client needs,” the report says. “Clients tell BTI the firm thinks strategically and excels in open and responsive communication. So steeped in expertise, Alston & Bird is able to craft creative solutions to meet individual client’s needs.”
Moreover, the study notes that the 30 firms boasting the highest overall scores in client service “perform 9 to 15 times better than typical law firms,” with clients seeing these firms at the “pinnacle of performance in the activities demonstrating investment in clients” and setting the “standard for other firms to match.”
The Client Service A-Team 2020 measures 340 firms across nearly 20 attributes – including understanding the client’s business, uniformity of service, dealing with unexpected changes, unprompted communication, and anticipating clients’ needs – that general counsel say are essential to delivering superior client service and driving the best relationships.
The report is based on interviews with more than 350 legal decision-makers at companies earning at least $1 billion in revenue per year and spanning more than 15 industries, including financial services, health care, and insurance.
