Alston & Bird partner Chris Lightner has been elected president of the Atlanta Bar Association for the 2022-2023 term. Founded in 1888, the Association is the largest voluntary bar association in the Southeast, serving more than 6,000 members from the Atlanta metropolitan area.
Lightner, who has served in the executive leadership of the Association since 2019, plans to focus his term on reengaging membership with “whole lawyer”-focused programming, coupled with new and meaningful pro bono and community service events. Outside his service to the Association, Lightner is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property – Patents Group. He focuses his practice on patent portfolio management, including procurement and enforcement, across a range of industries.
