Alston & Bird hosted its third annual Bob Dole Veterans Awards on November 6, recognizing colleagues and community leaders for their dedication to service members, veterans, and their families.
The program pays tribute to Senator Bob Dole—a highly decorated World War II veteran, congressional leader, and longtime presence in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office—whose spirit continues to guide the firm’s commitment to those who served.
This year’s honorees were Alexis Higgs, counsel in the Finance Group, and Pete November, president and chief executive officer of Ochsner Health and Alston & Bird alum. Paul Wright, executive director of the National Veterans Legal Services Program, delivered the keynote address.
Alston & Bird partners with leading organizations that support the needs of veterans—including the National Veterans Legal Services Program, the Veterans Consortium, Swords to Ploughshares, and Veterans Legal Institute—to deliver pro bono and community support that helps veterans secure benefits, housing, and health care as they transition to civilian life.
