Partner Kazu Shimizu Recognized Among Georgia’s Most Influential Asian American and Pacific Islander Leaders

Alston & Bird partner Kazu Shimizu has been recognized by the Georgia Asian Times as one of the GAT 25 Most Influential Asian American Pacific Islanders in Georgia for 2026, an annual list honoring individuals who have made significant contributions across business, civic, and professional communities throughout the state. This list was released in celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and highlights leaders whose work and influence strengthen Georgia’s economic, cultural, and civic landscape.

An experienced business lawyer who practices corporate, commercial, and intellectual property law, Kazu leads Alston & Bird’s Japan Business Team. He represents and advises Japanese corporations in their investments and operations in the United States as well as major U.S. corporations doing business in Japan.

In addition to his client work, Kazu is recognized for his leadership within the legal and business communities, serving on the board of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Georgia and the Japan-America Society of Georgia. His inclusion on the 2026 GAT 25 list reflects both his professional accomplishments and his broader impact within Georgia’s Asian American and Pacific Islander community.
