Look Ahead to the Week of November 13: Another Push to Avoid Government Shutdown

Both the House and Senate will be in session this week. The House is continuing to push forward on fiscal year 2024 appropriations bills this week before government funding expires on November 17. House Republicans unveiled their “laddered” stopgap funding bill on November 11, and are expected to vote on it as early as Tuesday.

The Administration

President Biden issued a National Spectrum Strategy and a Presidential Memorandum that lay a blueprint for promoting innovation, competition, and security in advanced wireless technology. Later this week, Biden will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in California on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit

House Side

On Wednesday, the House will meet to consider multiple bills under suspension.

Tuesday – Thursday, the House is scheduled to meet for legislative business.

Senate Side

On Monday, the Senate will resume consideration of the nomination of Ana de Alba to be a judge for the Ninth Circuit.

Additionally, on Monday, the Senate will continue its work on H.R. 815, the Removing Extraneous Loopholes Insuring Every Veteran Emergency (RELIEVE) Act, the legislative vehicle for a continuing resolution beyond November 17, 2023.
