Michael Ascher

• Researched and drafted 50-state surveys to inform an asset manager regarding change of control notice requirements for insurance producers.
• Assisted in preparing a client as part of an internal investigation in preparation for an SEC inquiry.
• Analyzed state law regarding how to challenge findings within an Illinois administrative agency’s examination report.
• Assisted a client in monitoring requirements under state law to wind down its business in the lead up to the entity’s dissolution.

Michael Ascher represents alternative investment products in matters related to their formation, public securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, ongoing securities law compliance, and corporate governance. Before joining the firm, Michael was a judicial intern for the Hon. Leo. M. Gordon for the U.S. Court of International Trade, gaining experience in legal research, drafting memoranda, and preparing summaries of legal complaints.

Michael also spent time as a strategic communications consultant. He worked closely with the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) in IT, procurement, and HR departments across 19 of the 28 DOL agencies.
