Peter Cornick

• Represented a telecommunications company in multiple commercial arbitrations alleging fraud and breach of contract in business-to-business dealings, obtaining multiple complete defense and attorneys’ fees awards.
• Representing life insurance companies in class actions related to cost-of-insurance rate redeterminations.
• Represented a life insurer in nationwide class action alleging failure to lower cost-of-insurance rates, obtaining a favorable settlement days before trial.
• Obtained a set-aside of a seven-figure default judgment for a leading wireless service provider.
• Counsel to several national corporations in relation to claims arising from alleged data breaches.

Peter Cornick is a senior associate in Alston & Bird’s Litigation & Trial Practice Group with experience in commercial litigation in a variety of industries. Before joining Alston & Bird, Peter served as a law clerk to the Hon. Thomas W. Thrash, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

Peter received his J.D. from the Vanderbilt University School of Law, where he was inducted into the Order of the Coif. While at Vanderbilt, he was awarded the John A. Cortner Championship Award in the school’s Intramural Moot Court Competition and served as an articles editor for the Vanderbilt Law Review.

Before law school, Peter was the operations director for the congressional campaign of a current U.S. Senator and an associate product manager at a financial services technology company. He earned his A.B. in history and science, cum laude, from Harvard College.
