Richard Galati is counsel with Alston & Bird’s Litigation & Trial Practice Group and focuses his practice on the representation of financial institutions, including investors and servicers of commercial mortgage–backed securities. He represents clients in a range of commercial litigation and disputes relating to distressed real estate loans, and loan origination and servicing issues. He also has experience representing clients in bankruptcy matters, adversary proceedings, and matters involving municipal tax and environmental liens.
While attending law school, Richard served as a judicial extern for U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeffrey N. Cole in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and was also certified as a mediator by the Center for Conflict Resolution. Richard received his J.D., cum laude, from the Northwestern University School of Law and his B.S. in industrial and labor relations, with honors, from Cornell University.
