Amy Heppner

• Designing, drafting, reviewing, and assisting in implementing ERISA health and welfare benefit plans and cafeteria plans.
• Counseling benefit plan administration committees on fiduciary and settlor issues.
• Preparing and reviewing HIPAA business associate agreements, policies and procedures, privacy notices, and training materials, and assisting with implementing firewalls between the benefit and personnel departments.
• Negotiating and reviewing administrative service agreements.
• Assisting clients responding to audits and inquiries conducted by the IRS, DOL, and HHS.

Amy S. Heppner is a counsel in the Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Group. Amy provides practical guidance to clients on how to comply with the myriad federal and state laws that impact employer-sponsored health and welfare benefit plans. Amy is recognized by The Best Lawyers in America© in Employee Benefits (ERISA) Law. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Louisville and her J.D. at the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2000.
