Laura Hunt is an associate in the Litigation & Trial Practice Group. She focuses her practice on oil and gas litigation, representing clients in lease termination, royalty litigation, contract disputes, and trespass-to-try-title suits.
Before joining Alston & Bird, Laura served as a law clerk for the Hon. David S. Morales in the Southern District of Texas Corpus Christi Division. She worked on cases involving employment discrimination, ERISA claims, civil rights violations, class actions, insurance disputes, and criminal law. In the summer of 2017, Laura also served as a judicial intern to Hon. Thomas B. Griffith, U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
Laura earned her J.D., cum laude, from Brigham Young University J. Reuben Clark Law School, where she served as an associate editor for the BYU Law Review and was president of the Government & Politics Legal Society. Laura received her B.A. in political science from Montana State University – Billings.
