• Advised a food delivery service on federal and state requirements for storing, handling, and delivering food to consumers.
• Counseled Fortune 500 companies on domestic and international regulatory compliance matters, including FDA and EU requirements for foods, food contact materials, dietary supplements, and pharmaceutical products.

Ben James advises food, beverage, cosmetic, and dietary supplement companies on a variety of regulatory matters, including federal and state requirements for product labeling, ingredient commercialization, and good manufacturing practices (GMP). Ben also advises clients on U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) compliance and enforcement matters, including inspections and product recalls.

Outside of the regulatory space, Ben advises consumer-facing brands on litigation risks stemming from labeling and advertising claims, helping clients to develop effective marketing materials while minimizing the risk of class-action challenges. Ben also advises clients on corporate mergers and acquisitions for FDA and USDA-regulated entities.

Ben gained experience as a legal intern for the Office of the County Attorney in Montgomery County, MD. He was also a fellow for The American Constitution Society for Law and Policy.
