• Developed patent strategies, drafted patent applications, performed patentability and freedom-to-operate analysis, and managed domestic and international patent portfolios for tissue grafts and related treatment methods for a large tissue graft manufacturer.

Jason Keith focuses his practice on all services relating to patent application drafting and prosecution, patentability opinions and freedom-to-operate opinions. Jason prepares and prosecutes applications covering a wide range of subject matter including tissue grafts, batteries, polymer chemistry, pharmaceuticals, carbon fiber, fuel cells, and plant genetics. He has a technical background in small molecule chemistry, organic and analytical chemistry, and chemical engineering.

Jason received his M.S. in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where his research involved employing analytical methods to study complex chemical interactions in proteomics. He earned his B.S. in chemistry with a biochemistry concentration from Duke University, where he researched self-healing polymers. He earned his J.D. from the Cardozo School of Law in 2013.

Before joining Alston & Bird, Jason worked as a chemist at General Electric in Niskayuna, NY, investigating resin and composite materials for use in airplane fuselages. He also worked as a patent agent and associate at a boutique New York intellectual property firm, where he managed prosecution portfolios relating to small molecule pharmaceuticals and formulations, as well as nucleotide-based diagnostics.
