Jennifer Kopp

• Represented an internet service provider in multiple high-stakes billion-dollar copyright infringement litigations brought by major record labels and music publishers involving the use of peer-to-peer networks, resulting in settlement and dismissal of all claims.
• Represented multiple video game developers in copyright infringement disputes, as well as matters involving Digital Millenium Copyright Act notice-and-takedown procedures.
• Conducted an internal investigation regarding a food and beverage company’s compliance with licensing agreements governing the use of character intellectual property. 
• Counseled a film company regarding its contractual right to access international film negatives, resulting in access to the materials sought.
• Represented a class of 670+ immigrants challenging unconstitutional detentions based on ICE detainers at trial, resulting in a significant damages award, and successfully argued against post-trial motions.   
• Protected a manufacturer and engineering firm’s market reputation by halting a competitor’s defamatory false advertising campaign through targeted cease-and-desist actions, securing a full retraction and avoiding litigation. 

Jennifer Kopp is a litigation associate who represents clients in media, entertainment, and intellectual property disputes, with experience in copyright and trademark matters as well as broader commercial litigation. Jennifer routinely represents clients in complex disputes involving the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, content moderation on online platforms, and licensing. She focuses heavily on cases driven by emerging technologies, such as generative artificial intelligence and digital assets. She has handled intellectual property issues in both private and public interest contexts, providing insight into how legal strategy intersects with business objectives and broader policy considerations. 

Before entering private practice, Jennifer served as a student advocate in New York University School of Law’s Technology Law & Policy Clinic, where she worked on intellectual property matters, and participated in the COVID 19 Rapid Response & Systems Summer Institute as a People’s Justice Fellow. She also previously worked as a litigation paralegal, where she first developed a deep understanding of litigation and discovered her interest in intellectual property. This combination of advocacy experience, litigation support, and intellectual property knowledge positions Jennifer to assist clients navigating disputes involving creative assets and media driven businesses.
