Alvaro Montenegro is an associate with Alston & Bird’s Litigation & Trial Practice Group. He represents clients in a variety of commercial, antitrust, and securities litigation matters.
Before joining the firm, Alvaro was an associate with an international law firm, where he handled matters involving unfair competition, trade secrets, commercial contracts, and fraud and whistleblower actions in state and federal courts. Alvaro was also awarded with the 2020 Janet D. Steiger Fellowship by the American Bar Association Antitrust Section to serve as an intern at the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office. He was also an extern with the Antitrust Bureau of the New York State Attorney General’s Office, where he collaborated on antitrust enforcement actions and investigations in a range of industries.
Alvaro earned his LL.M. from the New York University School of Law and his LL.B., summa cum laude, from Universidad de San Martin de Porres in Lima, Peru.
