Andrew Mueller

• Represented a large national restaurant chain in defense of a putative class action case alleging violations of California’s Unfair Competition Law, Consumer Legal Remedies Act, and False Advertising Law arising out of menu pricing for delivery orders.
• Defended against an investigation instituted by the Department of Justice (DOJ) regarding a complex conservation easement tax transaction, and facilitated the production of documents in response to DOJ subpoenas.
• Represented an Am Law 100 law firm in a legal malpractice action, and managed the review and production of tranches of documents in response to discovery requests propounded by the plaintiff.
• Assisted with research and negotiation resulting in the pre-suit resolution of a threatened employment action against a top public university.

Andrew Mueller is a senior associate in Alston & Bird’s Litigation & Trial Practice Group.

Before joining the firm, Andrew served as a law clerk for the Hon. Steven D. Grimberg of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and as a judicial intern for the Hon. Amy Totenberg of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and Presiding Judge Christopher J. McFadden of the Court of Appeals of Georgia. Andrew also interned for a Fortune 500 beverage company and worked for a global business consulting firm.

Andrew earned his J.D. at Emory University School of Law. While there, he was a staff member of the Emory Law Journal, completed multiple research and teaching assistantships, and represented juveniles through Emory’s Barton Juvenile Defender Clinic. Andrew was the first-place oralist in Emory’s intramural closing argument competition and the second-place oralist in Emory’s intramural moot court competition. He also received the Moffett Litigation Award for Outstanding Achievement in Trial Preparation and Litigation, the Cooper Inn of Court Award, and Emory’s Pro Bono Publico Medal.

Andrew received his B.A. from Furman University in political science and German studies. He was the Harry Shucker Outstanding Student Leader of his graduating class and inducted into the Quaternion Club and Furman’s Hall of Leaders. After college, Andrew completed a Fulbright grant in Germany.
