Zachary Newquist is an associate in Alston & Bird’s Financial Services Group. He focuses his practice on the banking and financial services industry, advising financial institutions on mergers and acquisitions, capital-raising activities, corporate governance, and regulatory matters.
Zach served as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army before law school. He led soldiers as an executive officer, operations officer, and platoon leader in the 82nd Airborne Division. Second in command of 120 paratroopers, Zach learned project management and developed a solution-based mindset that helps him tackle difficult problems. He received advanced negotiations training during his time in Special Operations Command and at the United States Military Academy. Zach is a graduate of the U.S. Army Jumpmaster and Ranger schools.
