Kaitlin (Katie) Owen focuses her practice on representing employers in all facets of labor and employment law, including litigation and preventative counseling, wage and hour matters, wrongful termination and fair employment issues, independent contractor classification, sexual harassment training and investigations, workplace violence, and drug testing and privacy issues. A large portion of Katie’s practice involves defending employers in class actions and representative lawsuits brought under California’s Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) in state and federal courts.
Clients rely on Katie for risk assessment on a variety of employment issues as well as insight on the development of company policies, including employee handbooks, arbitration agreements, executive compensation agreements, and standalone personnel policies. Katie proactively works with employers to identify and manage their legal risks and develop creative employment policy solutions.
Before becoming an attorney, Katie externed for the Hon. John A. Kronstadt of the Central District of California and the Hon. Gregory W. Alarcon of the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
