Jonathan Parente is co-leader of Alston & Bird’s Business Litigation Team. He represents clients across the country in complex litigation and arbitration involving commercial disputes, antitrust, defamation, corporate governance, RICO, consumer-protection statutes, and constitutional law.
Jonathan’s experience spans a range of industries, including technology, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing. A go-to litigator for collectibles marketplaces and grading companies, he has served as lead counsel in high-profile disputes over some of the most valuable and historically significant sports memorabilia and trading cards. He also advises companies in the automotive technology sector on regulatory and strategic issues.
Jonathan handles litigation from its inception but is often brought in as counsel before trial or to appeal after an adverse verdict. Jonathan’s appellate experience includes representing oil and gas companies before the U.S. Supreme Court in Dart Cherokee Basin Operating Co. LLC v. Owens, 135 S. Ct. 547.
Jonathan joined the firm after serving as a law clerk to the Hon. R. Lanier Anderson III of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the Hon. J. Randal Hall of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia.
In 2023, Jonathan received the Daily Report’s “On the Rise” award, which honors the Southeast’s most promising lawyers under the age of 40. Georgia Super Lawyers has also named Jonathan to its list of “Rising Stars.”
