Bill Springer is counsel on Alston & Bird’s Structured & Warehouse Finance Team. His broad finance background is centered around extensive securitization and warehouse finance experience and includes significant work in derivatives, property assessed clean energy (PACE), and other renewable energy transactions and venture capital work. Bill represents banks and issuers in traditional and esoteric asset-based securitization (ABS) transactions, including auto loans and leases, student loans, subprime mortgages, dealer floorplans, consumer loans, credit card receivables, structured settlements, and regulatory capital deals. He has significant experience with collateralized loan obligations (CLOs) and collateralized debt obligations (CDOs) in both cash and synthetic forms. Bill has also handled a wide array of renewable energy financings and has extensive experience in regulatory issues and structured finance deals in the PACE market, including drafting the offering documents for the initial PACE securitization.

Bill’s transactional experience includes work with startups and venture capital funds and negotiating and drafting a broad range of derivatives and structured products, including total return, credit default, commodity, equity, FX, and rate swaps, and equity- and credit-linked notes. Bill also maintains a focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and sustainability in his practice and has collaborated with public and private entities on these matters.
