Ben White focused his practice on exempt organizations of all kinds, as well as estate and tax planning. As senior counsel in the largest and most comprehensive exempt organizations practice in the Southeast, Ben is widely known for his successful representation of exempt organizations with intractable tax problems. His clients included international, national, regional and local tax-exempt organizations, public and private, located throughout the United States and in other countries. Ben counseled extensively with both exempt organizations and lawyers, accountants and other professionals representing exempt organizations; and he provided strategic advice on the array of tax, business, cultural and political issues that are distinct to exempt organizations.
Ben maintained an extensive wealth planning practice, representing some of the wealthiest individuals and families in the Southeast and provided counseling to individual and institutional trustees, executors, personal representatives, and other fiduciaries.
Ben was named by The Best Lawyers in America® as the 2012 Exempt Organizations “Lawyer of the Year” in Atlanta, 2013 Trusts and Estates Litigation “Lawyer of the Year” in Atlanta and 2014–2015 Non-Profit/Charities Law “Lawyer of the Year” in Atlanta. He has also been recognized by Chambers HNW as a senior statesperson in Private Wealth Law – Georgia. Ben graduated from the Harvard Law School and from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead Scholar.
