Jacob W. Young is an associate in Alston & Bird’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group. Jacob previously worked as a judicial extern for the Hon. Sean D. Jordan in the Eastern District of Texas and as a judicial intern for the Hon. Alan D Albright in the Western District of Texas, where he worked on a multitude of cases, gaining a strong understanding of various stages of litigation.
Jacob received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and was an associate managing editor of the SMU Law Review Association. Jacob also participated as a student attorney in the SMU First Amendment Clinic and was a Tsai Scholar for the Tsai Center of Law, Science, and Innovation, a pupil in the Honorable Barbara M.G. Lynn Inn of Court, the president of the Intellectual Property Organization, and the vice president of communications for the student chapter of the Federalist Society. He received his B.S. in chemistry from the College of William and Mary, where he was the chair of the Honor Council and a Monroe Scholar.
