Andrew Ligotti is a senior associate in the New York office and a member of Alston & Bird’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group.

Andrew’s practice encompasses all areas of intellectual property litigation, with an emphasis on patent litigation. He represents technology and industry clients in lawsuits and appeals in federal courts across the U.S., including cases involving internal combustion engines and fuel management systems, fracturing operation systems, cold chain shipping containers, mechanical circulatory support devices, retractable roof systems, telecommunications, and pharmaceutical compounds. Andrew also has extensive experience representing clients in inter partes and post-grant review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Andrew regularly helps guide startups and counsels them on the development of their intellectual property portfolios.

Andrew received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2014. During law school, he was the executive team member of the Intellectual Property Moot Court team and interned at the District Attorney’s Office for the Thirteenth District of North Carolina. He earned his B.S., magna cum laude, in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2011.
