Richard Kariss spoke during this seminar and have a discussion regarding state tax issues. Managing the state tax audit process and handling the procedural aspects of state tax appeals are often more important than the underlying substantive state tax issues. This discussion focused on a practical approach to handling and resolving state tax audits and appeals. The speaker used the audit and tax appeal processes in certain Northeast states as examples but the information and methods discussed will apply generally to resolving state tax audits and appeals throughout the country.
