Mary Benton, Clark Calhoun and Kendall Houghton participated in this conference sponsored by Vanderbilt Unversity Law School.
Mary was a featured speaker during the session "Sales Tax: As The Sands Shift Beneath Our Feet," October 30th, 1:30pm-2:30pm. This panel discussed a number of conflicting sales tax concepts and how practitioners and their clients can best navigate the ever-shifting sands of tax.
Kendall was a featured presenter during the session "Hot Topics in Formulary Appointment," October 29th, 2:45pm-3:45pm. This panel discussed a myriad of current issues in state apportionment formulas, such as the opportunities and pitfalls of market-based sourcing rules, when services are characterized as tangible personal property, and alternative apportionment (good for the goose, good for the gander?).
Clark was a featured presenter during the session "Southeast Roundtable," October 29th, 4:00pm-5:00pm. This session covered the most important state and local developments in the southeastern states.
