Scott Harty and Sam Kaywood will participate in this seminar hosted by the International Fiscal Association (IFA).
Scott Harty will serve the event chair.
Sam Kaywood will serve as a panelist for the session “Buyer Beware: Pitfalls and Opportunities in International M&A.” The deal market does not appear to be slowing down, and taxpayers continue to navigate the complexities and uncertainty of U.S. tax reform. This session will explore key issues and considerations related to cross-border deals. Should taxpayers always make Section 338(g) elections … and does checking and selling still make sense? The panel will dive into the opportunities and challenges taxpayers are facing when dealing with cross-border acquisitions and divestitures now that there is more gray and less black and white with U.S. tax reform. The panel will also consider what the tax deals strategy should look like to assist corporate and business development in light of the uncertainties.
