Ransomware has evolved into a national security threat that is receiving attention at the highest levels of federal government and costing billions of dollars in global losses annually. Much of recent guidance from regulators and security firms focuses on basic cyber hygiene as a continuing need to fight the evolving cyber threat landscape. This panel will discuss the evolving threat of ransomware, practical issues related to the threat that in-house counsel may confront, and effective strategies to protect against and respond to ransomware incidents.
