Donna Bergeson was quoted in a BNA Health Law Reporter article discussing the host of legal issues facing physicians who practice telemedicine. She stated, as one issue, that “state medical boards have been known to reprimand telemedicine MDs who are not licensed in their state even when good results occur; they are protecting their licensed physicians. That has a bad ripple effect. When reprimanded by one state, it often causes problems in other states where the MD is licensed because he has to explain being disciplined by another state’s board.”
