Alston & Bird announced that the $107 million jury verdict it won for client Mylan, Inc., was featured in Law360’s “Top IP Verdicts of 2014—And the Firms that Won Them.”
Law360 compiled the list of intellectual property verdicts that exceeded $50 million in 2014.
Earlier this year, the Intellectual Property Group spearheaded a cross-office and cross practice group team led by Frank Smith and consisting of Mike Johnson, Natalie Clayton, Leah Feinman and Wade Perrin, tried a breach of a patent license case for Mylan, as plaintiff, against GlaxoSmithKline, one of the world’s largest branded pharmaceutical companies. The jury returned the $107 million verdict after a two-week trial in federal court in Trenton, New Jersey.
Alston & Bird also collaborated with Michael Vazquez of Critchley Kinum & Vazquez, LLC in representing Mylan for the case.
