Robert Edge Honored with ArtsATL Amaranth Award for Philanthropic Legacy

Robert Edge, senior counsel in Alston & Bird’s Wealth Planning Group, has been honored by ArtsATL with its 2018 Amaranth Award for Philanthropic Legacy.

Part of ArtsATL’s second annual Luminary Awards, the honor recognizes Edge among the “best of the best within Atlanta’s vibrant arts community” and points to his leadership as chair of the Charles Loridans Foundation, a private foundation that has supported a broad spectrum of the arts, including such organizations as the Museum of Contemporary Art Georgia, Shakespeare Tavern, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and the Alliance Theatre.

Edge also was commemorated for his role as a founding trustee of the Walter and Emilie Spivey Foundation, which led to the construction of Spivey Hall, a 400-seat performing arts center at Clayton State University that has presented the best in jazz and classical music to the metro Atlanta area since 1991.

Honoring the passionate, creative, and innovative spirit of Atlanta’s arts community, the ArtsATL Luminary Awards recognize outstanding contributions and leadership in philanthropy, community engagement, social discourse, and innovation.
