Courtney Wright, partner in Alston & Bird’s Real Estate Finance & Investment Group, and Jessica Sharron, partner in the firm’s Construction & Government Contracts Group, have been named among the “2020 Top Women Attorneys in Los Angeles” by the Los Angeles Business Journal.
Wright and Sharron were honored as part of a select group of women highlighted by the publication for their “exceptional legal skill and achievement across the full spectrum of responsibility, exemplary leadership as evidenced by the highest professional and ethical standards, and contributions to the Los Angeles community at large.”
Wright, who focuses her practice on real estate, finance, and capital markets, was noted for her experience representing institutional lenders, investment banks, mezzanine funds, and portfolio lenders in originating commercial mortgage loans, mezzanine loans, and loan restructurings across a variety of asset classes. Additionally, she is a member of the firm’s LIBOR (London Interbank Offered Rate) Transition Task Force, which assists companies in the U.S. and globally in managing the transition from LIBOR.
Sharron was recognized for her experience representing health care providers, banks, telecommunications companies, and other clients in government contracts and construction matters. She advises clients on compliance with federal, state, and local procurement rules and regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation, federal agency supplemental regulations, and equivalent state rules governing public procurement. She also represents government contractors in adversary proceedings such as bid protests and affirmative and defensive claims litigation under the Contract Disputes Act and False Claims Act and in government investigations.
