Alston & Bird has expanded its consumer financial services capabilities with the addition of John Redding as a partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Arriving from financial services boutique Buckley LLP, he brings more than 25 years of in-house and private practice experience advising clients on consumer finance investigative, regulatory, and enforcement actions by the federal government and state attorneys general.

Alston & Bird has enhanced its Real Estate Group by adding partners Jim Kousoulas and James Litwinovich to the firm’s Los Angeles office. Jim and James help guide real estate clients through a variety of complex loan transactions and litigation management strategies, with extensive experience working with a variety of lenders.

Alston & Bird represented Pathstone, a New Jersey–based wealth management advisor, in its acquisition of Brainard Capital Management, an independent advisory boutique located in Austin, Texas, as well as in its new strategic private equity investment from Kelso & Company and its additional private equity investment from Lovell Minnick Partners (LMP).
