Alston & Bird represented a client on appeal after the immigration judge incorrectly applied evidentiary standards in her case. While the appeal was pending in the Fifth Circuit, the client was removed to Bolivia. The team’s relentless work resulted in the case being remanded to the immigration court, and asylum was granted. Following the grant of asylum, the team worked for two years with multiple government agencies and were finally successful in getting our client back to the United States in March.
The Alston & Bird team included of associates Ellie Saathoff (ERISA Litigation) and Siena Cornacchini (Corporate & Business Transactions), counsel Sarah O’Donohue and paralegal Rafael Lopez (Litigation).
