Alston & Bird Securities & Commodities Enforcement Defense partner Andy Sumner was quoted in a Bloomberg Law article, “Delaware Discord Drives States to Grow Their Own Business Courts” (subscription required), on Georgia’s expansion of its statewide business court and new rules governing shareholder derivative lawsuits. Andy said the law could make Georgia more attractive to companies by providing greater certainty about where those lawsuits may be filed. “Previously, if you’re a Georgia corporation, you might get sued in a hundred different counties in Georgia,” he said.
