Alston & Bird Intellectual Property Litigation partner Adam Swain spoke with Managing Intellectual Property for an article, “‘Wide Net, Big Hammer’: ITC Proves Popular for Data Center Litigation” (subscription required), about the growing risk of patent disputes involving data centers.
Adam explained that a single facility can contain thousands of technologies, including microprocessors, servers, storage, cooling systems, and power supplies. As disputes increase, he said, law firms will need both International Trade Commission (ITC) experience and a sophisticated understanding of data center technology and intellectual property. “Those that truly do are best positioned to help,” he added.
