“Governor Newsom Issues Order Seeking to End New Fracking Permits,” Daily Journal, October 6, 2020.

On Sept. 23, California Gov. Gavin Newsom issued an executive order asking the state legislature to end the issuance of new hydraulic fracturing permits by 2024. The proposed phase-out of hydraulic fracturing is certain to be met with legal challenges.
