• Drafted and negotiated a variety of commercial contracts and agreements across the supply chain, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and managing legal risk.
• Drafted several successful FDA regulatory submissions, including Food Contact Substance Notifications (FCNs), to obtain premarket clearances for new substances.
• Counseled various clients on the compliance status of indirect food additives.
• Counseled global clients on regulatory pathways and strategic considerations for premarket approval of components intended for multiple uses, including food-contact and medical device applications.
• Advised top chemical and agribusiness companies on good manufacturing practices (GMP) issues and post-market adverse events, such as accidental adulteration or contamination scenarios.

Karly Bader focuses her practice on representing clients in the food and beverage industry in their regulatory and compliance matters. She has experience advising companies throughout the product supply chain, including in contract review, labeling and claims, third-party logistics, and food safety.

Before joining Alston & Bird, Karly was deputy general counsel at a baby food company, providing strategic legal guidance on all commercial, regulatory, transactional, and litigation matters. Karly was also chief of staff at a consumer goods and food delivery company. While in law school, Karly served as a legal intern with the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, and the USDA’s Office of Ethics.
