• Lead trial counsel for global health care companies in the Northern District of Illinois concerning HIV immunoassays, resulting in settlement shortly before trial. Abbott Laboratories v. Grifols Diagnostic Solutions Inc., No. 19-cv-6587 (N.D. Ill.).
• Lead counsel for a global industrial packaging company in cases in the District of Delaware and Eastern District of Texas asserting foundational packaging tool patents.
• Trial counsel for a biotechnology company in a bench trial in the District of Maryland concerning neural stem cell patents. Secured a complete dismissal of litigation for lack of standing. Stemcells, Inc. v. Neuralstem, Inc., No. 06-cv-1877 (D. Md.).
• Lead counsel for a consumer products company in the Northern District of Illinois and secured permanent injunction against infringing products.
• Defended a PTAB decision in an inter partes review related to USB flash drive technology as appellate counsel before the Federal Circuit, resulting in Rule 36 affirmance.
• Represented a multinational health care company and affiliated entities in an ITC investigation involving recombinant Factor VIII technology.
• Trial counsel for a global medical device manufacturer in a two-week jury trial in the Southern District of California concerning large-volume infusion pump patents. Secured a verdict of noninfringement, defeating claims for over $170 million in damages and a permanent injunction. CareFusion 303, Inc. v. Sigma International, No. 10-cv-00442-DMS-WMC (S.D. Cal.).
• Defended a chemical manufacturing company in a patent infringement suit involving papermaking processes. Achieved a favorable settlement for the client. Baker Hughes, Inc. v. Nalco Company, No. 15-1895, (Fed. Cir.).
• Defended a pharmaceutical company in a declaratory judgment action concerning injectable epinephrine. The case settled favorably following the filing of an IPR petition.
