Trent R. McKenzie

• Represented Ridgemont Equity Partners and its portfolio company SEKO Worldwide LLC in numerous acquisitions, including its acquisition of Pixior, LLC.
• Represented private equity firm Pamlico Capital and its portfolio company, Veson Nautical, in its growth investment from Francisco Partners, a leading global investment firm that specializes in technology-enabled businesses.
• Represented Veson Nautical, portfolio company of Pamlico Capital, in its acquisition of Q88, a SaaS business specializing in the marine shipping industry.
• Represented TrueCar, a leading automotive digital marketplace, in its acquisition of Digital Motors, an automotive retail and financial technology platform company.
• Represented Veterinary Practice Partners, a leading veterinary practice management group and portfolio company of Pamlico Capital, in a strategic growth investment from Audax Private Equity, a leading capital partner for North American middle market companies.
• Represented a private equity fund in its strategic growth investment in a platform for IT decision-making and the nation’s premier distributor for next generation technology.

Trent McKenzie is an associate in Alston & Bird’s Corporate & Business Transactions Group. He advises private equity funds and their portfolio companies on a variety of transactional matters, including mergers & acquisitions.

Trent began his career as a patent prosecutor, gaining exposure to a diverse array of intellectual property issues while performing due diligence and protecting inventions in jurisdictions around the world.

Before joining Alston & Bird, Trent worked in the tax department of a top Silicon Valley law firm, where he counseled companies on initial public offerings and other securities filings, financings, restructurings, and mergers & acquisitions.

Trent received his law degree with honors from the University of Texas School of Law and electrical engineering degree from North Carolina State University.
