Zion Miller focuses his practice on complex litigation matters, drawing on experience in federal and state courts. Before joining the firm, he clerked for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, where he drafted opinions and orders disposing of cases and assisted three-judge panels in deliberative conferences.
Zion also held externships with the Indiana Supreme Court, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Indiana, and Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. Zion was a Janet D. Stieger Fellow with the Illinois Attorney General’s Antitrust Bureau. In these roles, he researched and analyzed complex civil and criminal issues, assisted in drafting appellate briefs and dispositive motions, and prepared matters for judicial consideration.
As a student legal practitioner, he presented an oral argument before the Seventh Circuit in a pro bono habeas case and examined a key witness during a suppression hearing.
Zion earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and the Order of the Barrister and served as editor in chief of the Indiana Journal of Law and Social Equality. He distinguished himself in advocacy competitions, winning both moot court and trial competitions and receiving honors for brief writing and oral advocacy.
