Alston & Bird is seeking a state and local tax associate with 3-6 years’ experience to join its state and local tax team. Successful candidates will have experience with a wide variety of state and local planning and controversy matters, including litigation experience. Candidate should also have experience advising on state tax issues arising in M&A transactions.  Experience with unclaimed property matters is a plus.  Excellent academic credentials and strong verbal, writing, and interpersonal skills are required. The salary range for this position is $260,000 - $390,000 and represents the Firm's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at this time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, and locations. This range is specific to our New York City office and may not be applicable to other locations.
