Alston & Bird Ranks among Top Law Firms for Patents

Alston & Bird has been recognized by IPWatchdog as one of the country’s top law firms for utility patents, the third consecutive year the firm has been highlighted by the publication as a leader in patents for inventions.

In IPWatchdog’s new survey, “Top Patent Law Firms for 2017,” the firm ranks No. 59, with more than 877 utility patents obtained in 2017 – up from 807 patents the previous year. The ranking places Alston & Bird among the top 10 percent of the more than 800 firms included in the report.

Alston & Bird is consistently recognized as one of the country’s leading law firms in patent litigation before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), U.S. International Trade Commission, and federal courts. The firm was recently ranked No. 10 in overall PTAB proceedings for 2017 by Managing Intellectual Property and No. 4 by Lex Machina in representing defendants in new patent litigation in 2016.

IPWatchdog generated its rankings based on the total number of U.S. utility patents issued and the firms listed on the front of the patents. Only firms that had obtained at least 50 utility patents were included.
