Alston & Bird has expanded its structured finance and warehouse financing capabilities with the addition of Bill Springer as finance counsel in the firm’s New York office.
“Bill is a dynamic lawyer whose addition significantly expands our ability to advise clients across a broad spectrum of asset classes and highly structured transactions,” said Shanell Cramer, Alston & Bird partner and co-head of the firm’s Finance Group. “His arrival continues a significant period of growth for our Finance Group and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to serving our clients on the most sophisticated transactions now and in the years ahead.”
Bringing nearly 20 years of experience, Springer most recently was at Morgan Lewis LLP, where he worked on a variety of transactions, including collateralized loan obligations and asset-backed bond offerings underpinned by auto loans, credit cards, and student loans.
As a member of Alston & Bird’s Structured & Warehouse Finance Team, Springer will center his practice on traditional and nontraditional asset-backed securities (ABS) and other complex financial products. He also brings significant experience in renewable energy finance, including property assessed clean energy (PACE) loans and other renewables and venture capital work.
Springer is the most recent addition to Alston & Bird’s Structured & Warehouse Finance Team. His joining follows the arrival of Alston & Bird partners Joseph Gambino and Peter Williams and senior associate Elizabeth Walker in 2020.
