• Representing a real estate developer in one of the largest ongoing toxic tort actions pending in federal district court, seeking billions of dollars in damages against the federal government and its contractor resulting from the botched radiological cleanup of a former naval shipyard that is the subject of San Francisco’s largest redevelopment project in a century.
• Defending an electric utility company in lawsuits in state and federal courts alleging personal injuries and property damages arising from alleged groundwater, surface water, and air contamination.
• Advising a Fortune 500 glass manufacturing company in ongoing environmental remedial work.
• Counseling companies developing pesticides and antimicrobial products on compliance with the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA).
• Advising an international transportation and logistics company on compliance with hazardous waste laws and the management of automotive waste streams.
• Represented a chemical manufacturer in lawsuits filed by municipalities alleging that multiple defendants’ operations contributed to PFAS contamination of local drinking water.
• Defended a nationwide manufacturer of cement and concrete products against citizen suits under the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act.
• Advised a manufacturer of automotive parts on compliance with the Toxic Substances Control Act and negotiated TSCA Consent Orders with the EPA.
• Represented a solar company in contract negotiations for Solar Energy Procurement Agreements with private landowners, nonprofit organizations, and municipalities.
• Represented a solar advocacy group before the Georgia Public Service Commission.
• Advised on environmental due diligence matters for acquisitions of a multithousand-acre Georgia solar farm and a multithousand-acre Texas timber farm.

Vickie Chung Rusek is a member of the Environment, Land Use & Natural Resources Group. She represents companies in the energy, manufacturing, logistics, and development sectors in high-stakes litigation involving the environment, natural resources, and toxic torts. She also works with clients in highly regulated industries to navigate permitting and compliance under complex environmental programs, including CERCLA, the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, and their state counterparts.

Vickie advises clients on the acquisition and redevelopment of environmentally impacted properties, renewable energy, and sustainability initiatives including Georgia’s HB 57 and other solar energy incentives. Additionally, Vickie has experience representing property owners and developers before zoning boards and in zoning appeals.
