Devin Schoonmaker

• Providing guidance to insurers, syndicators, developers, lenders, and investors in tax-incentivized transactions involving tax credits.
• Represented multiple insurers in the placement of numerous of tax insurance policies to cover risk of loss of ITCs and PTCs in renewable energy transactions. Covered losses include begun construction, structure, recapture, qualified basis, and enhanced credits under the Inflation Reduction Act.
• Represented a Fortune 500 company in its first ITC investment consisting of a utility-scale, ground-mount solar facility with a capacity greater than 100 megawatts (MW).
• Represented non-profit organizations (QALICBs) and community development entities (CDEs) in federal New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) financings.

Devin Schoonmaker has experience advising clients on tax matters that utilize federal and state low-income housing tax credits, new market tax credits, historic rehabilitation tax credits, and renewable energy tax credits. Devin represents developers, syndicators, investors, insurers, and business clients.
