• Lead trial counsel for a corporate plaintiff alleging breach of contract and breach of warranty. After a three-week trial, the Florida jury returned a verdict awarding the plaintiff more than $96 million.
• Lead trial counsel for a corporate plaintiff alleging theft of trade secrets and breach of contract. After a five-week arbitration, the panel awarded the plaintiff more than $100 million.
• Lead trial counsel for a corporate plaintiff alleging fraud and breach of contract, ultimately recovering more than $50 million, including all attorneys' fees.
• Lead trial counsel for a Japanese manufacturer that sought to recover more than $300 million from a U.S. supplier relating to a product recall. The case settled under favorable terms.
• Lead trial counsel for the defense in a case where the plaintiff sought to recover $750 million under various fraudulent conveyance theories. The case settled under favorable terms.
• Lead trial counsel for a Japanese electronics company in New York federal court where the plaintiff sought to recover more than $50 million in connection with a product recall initiated by a U.S. automobile manufacturer. The case settled under favorable terms.

• Lead trial counsel for world’s largest carpet manufacturer in dozens of state and federal lawsuits alleging per-and poly-fluoroalkyl substance (PFAS) water contamination in Georgia and Alabama.
• Lead trial counsel for manufacturing client at a Superfund site involving over $100 million in cleanup costs.
• Lead trial counsel for world’s largest carpet manufacturer in numerous state and federal lawsuits alleging per-and poly-fluoroalkyl substance (PFAS) water contamination where the plaintiffs seek more the $5 billion collectively.
• Lead trial counsel for manufacturing client at a Superfund site involving over $100 million in cleanup costs.

Doug Scribner is a trial lawyer who worked principally in complex commercial and environmental litigation. Doug represented plaintiffs in high-stakes commercial cases. In 2014, he was lead counsel for the corporate plaintiff in a case where the jury awarded our client more than $96 million. It was the largest Florida commercial jury verdict in 2014, and was featured in The National Law Journal’s “Top 100 Verdicts of 2014.” In 2011, he was lead counsel for another corporate plaintiff in a case where the arbitration panel awarded our client more than $100 million.

As lead trial counsel, Doug has extensive experience representing Fortune 500 companies at trial and in arbitration. He has been lead trial counsel in 25 different states. He was inducted into the Florida Verdicts Hall of Fame and has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America^® and Super Lawyers magazine every year since its inception. He was also recognized by Chambers USA for Commercial Litigation (Georgia) for his “wealth of experience handling environmental and commercial disputes predominantly on behalf of manufacturers.”

Doug served on Alston & Bird’s Management Committee and formerly led both the Litigation & Trial Practice Team and the Industrials & Manufacturing Team.
