Jason Waite was a featured speaker during this program hosted by the University of Illinois at Chicago, U.S. Commercial Service, Midwest Research Univesity Network, International Trade Association of Greater Chicago and Illinois District Export Council.
This unique program was designed specifically for academic institutions, labs, federally funded research and development centers and any entity doing research with foreign nationals and/or foreign persons. Anyone involved including compliance, legal, principal researchers, professors and students were invited.
This interactive and practical application focused on outreach, education and training addressed key aspects of trade compliance and the consequences and costs of getting it right or wrong in the context of the research community and evolving Export Control Reform. It included lessons learned from real world case studies and settlements with the U.S. Departments of Commerce, State and Justice.
