Kathleen Benway, Alex Brown, Matthew Kent, and Valarie Williams will speak at the 2025 American Bar Association Antirust Law Section’s Spring Meeting, the world’s largest antitrust and consumer protection law conference.

Kathleen Benway will moderate the panel “Consumer Protection: Year in Review.” This session will review legal developments in consumer protection during the last year.

Alex Brown will moderate the panel “Be On the Lookout: Surveillance Pricing.” This session will discuss the implications of demographics-based and individualized pricing, weighing its potential anticompetitive and illegal aspects against its pro-consumer benefits.

Matthew Kent will participate in a trial team during a mock trial. This mock trial will include two trial teams and economists debating challenging facts and legal issues presented by recent cases in online search and digital advertising as it relates to antitrust.

Valarie Williams will moderate the panel “Keeping Secrets Amidst Increased Employee Mobility.” This session will debate the intersection of antitrust and IP, focusing on franchise and other labor markets in this age of heightened employee mobility.
